These terms govern your use of this website and any moving services booked with Blue Oak Moving, a licensed and insured moving company based in Sterling Heights, Michigan. By requesting a quote, booking a move, or otherwise using this site, you agree to the terms below.

Our services. Blue Oak Moving provides local and long-distance moving services using our own trucks and our own employees — we do not subcontract moving labor to outside companies or brokers. Specific services, including packing, storage, and specialty item handling, are described on our services page.

Quotes and estimates. We provide flat-rate quotes based on the information you give us, whether through an in-home visit, a video walkthrough, or a detailed description over the phone. A quote may change if the actual inventory, access conditions, or scope of the move differs materially from what was described when the quote was prepared.

Booking and deposits. We do not require a deposit to reserve a moving date. Your booking is confirmed once our office schedules your move and you agree to the estimate provided.

Changes and cancellations. Move dates, addresses, or inventory can change — let our office know as early as possible so we can adjust crew size and scheduling. Cancellations made with little notice during peak scheduling periods may limit our ability to offer the same date again on short notice.

Arrival windows. We provide an arrival window rather than an exact time, since traffic on routes like I-696, M-59, and I-94, weather, and the length of a prior job can affect timing. Our office will contact you if we expect to run outside the window given.

Liability and valuation coverage. Our moves are covered under our general liability and cargo coverage as a licensed and insured carrier, with valuation coverage details provided at booking. Certain high-value items may require separate declaration and coverage discussed in advance.

Damage claims. If an item is damaged during your move, report it to our office as soon as possible, ideally on move day. Our billing and insurance coordinator will walk you through the claims process and expected timeline for resolution.

Weather and conditions beyond our control. Macomb County winters can bring lake-effect snow and icy roads with little warning. If severe weather makes a move unsafe, we’ll work with you to reschedule rather than risk your belongings or our crew.

Prohibited items. We cannot transport hazardous materials, flammable liquids, firearms without proper documentation, or certain perishable items. Our estimator can tell you what applies to your specific move.

Payment. Payment is due upon completion of your move unless other arrangements were confirmed in writing with our office in advance.

Changes to these terms. We may update these terms from time to time; the version posted on this site is the one currently in effect.

Questions about these terms can be directed to our office through the contact page.
